> Inspired by a very large painting of an armchair by Humphrey Ocean displayed at the summer exhibition 2006 at the RA. The armchair exudes comfortable confidence but the painting below is being questionned by the sterile minimalism of the plastic mount. The work is about my uncomfortable relationship with abstract painting which I find powerful and beautiful but for which I struggle to find a meaning.
